That's the kind of trial and error stuff I need to know. What I had in mind was to epoxy a thin band around the edges of the bottom half of the blade and then use tung oil on the rest. Do you think the epoxy (with some added UV protection on the epoxy) is worth it? Or, should I just forget about it and just put on only the tung oil (What's your opinion)? Sounds like its probably not worth it.

: paddle, which would apparently crack the epoxy in that little tiny spot,
: and then water would get in and underneath. This was visible as a small
: dark spot around the ding. I was concerned that these spots would not dry
: out, and the wood would rot or at least permanently discolor, so I sanded
: off the epoxy and went with tung oil. I've been happy with that.
