: Has anyone tried this sander. It can do convex and concave shapes. I saw it
: yesterday at Sears. They only had a 2"X4" to try it on. They
: have coarse medium and fine discs.

Hi Roger, I bought one last summer and thought I would use it a lot during the building of a Guillemot. I did not end up using it to any great extent. It did come in real handy for sanding around the chines and at the bow and stern. It worked well for doing a quick final sand of the bare wood after wetting to raise the grain.
The main reason that I didn't use it to any great extent was the dust factor. I built in my living room and an electric sander simply raised too much dust.
I use on of those sander cleaner things, like a big rubber eraser stick, to keep the sanding pads clean, or else they gunked up with epoxy dust real quick.
You can also pop off the sanding pads themselfs and sand with just one or two. This may come in handy from time to time in tight spots.
I thought It would work well on the inside concave areas, but this was not the case. It workds fine for gental concave areas, like up at the bow, but is best for convex curves and flat areas.
Hope this helps
Tom
