: Hi All-

: We have a few boats nearing completion, and want to put full deck lines on
: for safety.

: Does anyone know a distributor of 3/16 or 1/4" black braided deckline?
: We want to buy a whole spool.

: Does anyone have a preference for 3/16 over 1/4"?

: Thanks!

I bought a spool of starter cord for my deck safety lines. It is 3/16, black with a red tracer and no stretch at all. I left it out in the elements for two years now and there is no sign of damage. It works great. Try your local small engine repair shops. The roll will cost a lot less than the price they charge per foot. Haggle with the sales people. I bought the roll for $20.00. It is used for tying down my 17/9 Freedom onto my truck, painter lines, tent and fly tarp ropes, safety lines on my Cape Ann and I will epoxy the edge of my paddles with it. Hope this helps. Regards, Erich.
