Joe said at R2K1 that he had the King clear coated by an auto body shop, and I think he said it was a PPG product. Flawlessly done of course, as was the rest of that jewel. What do you suppose he has up his sleeve for this year?

BTW, I remember Grant Goltz at Squeedunk posting that his boats are clear coated with automotive finishes too. Most of these are 2-part urethanes which remain exceptionally clear over time.

System 3 has a moisture-cure urethane clear coat, with a part B crosslinker that goes only in the final coat. I did some test patches and initially it was much clearer than Captain's, no yellow at all. No long-term results yet, but I plan to use it on my Redfish Silver in another couple months.
