For those painting s&g hulls with yellow marine paint you may notice it takes an extra coat or two of yellow paint to cover well, on the bottom of the 16' Merganser I made a final fill coat (two previous then sanded) with white pigmented epoxy and a little white microballoons, made for a sandable base that appears to take paint fine but seems to make for better coverage with the yellow paint compared to covering the dark ply with only paint.
