Often the pumps will "burp" when first used until they fill up completely. I usually pump several times into spare containers until the pumps "settle in" and then return the liquids to the containers. If you wish to make you own measuring containers, simply find a a couple of clear plastic containers and pre measure into them with known measuring cups and mark off on the sides your own lines. My supplier has plastic containers to measure. Link below. For small mixes, try your pharmacy for small medical liquid dose containers which have graduated lines on the sides.
