It's a 1:1 pump ratio (which makes for a 2:1 goo ratio). It was a bad day at work and I was hiding on the kayak forun as I ate lunch, but apparently the day was affecting my brain!

Anyway, what I meant was that there are some epoxies that have ratios like 5:1, that would just be too hard. So instead of equal size puddles, I squirt out unequal size puddles. It's fairly easy to judge a 2:1 ratio, harder (I think) to judge 5:1 ratios of spreading goo...

My point still stands though - I haven't wasted any epoxy or turned a deck into an uncurable mess because I did't mix the epoxy correctly.

Is this stuff really so difficult, or are we making it harder on ourselves than we need?

My guess is that the formualtors, realising that many of the users of their product are not working in labs with precisely calibrated measuring equipment, design their products to be reasonably tolerant of slight mis-mixing in terms of resin/hardner ratios.
