Tools: Circular saw recommendations?

My crummy old 6" circular saw just doesn't cut it any more! ;)

What's the hot setup in 7 1/4" saws these days? I checked out the selection at the local Home Despot and the Porter Cable and Milwaukee seemed to stand out compared to Bosch, Makita, Ryobi and Skil saws. What are you guys using?

BTW, I looked briefly at cordless models, but really didn't consider them seriously. I can see the advantages, but are they really practical? What kind of battery life can one expect?
