: Has anyone put a skin deck on an s&g hull? How would you join the skin to the
: sheer? Just curious.
My S&G boat has seen better days. I'm thinking about pulling the deck off and redoing it in SOF. I got the Morris and Dyson books from the library... Starr is on order. So far it looks like I'll be doing a lot of improvising. I guess I'm thinking I'll secure the fabric under a 1/4" strip running along the sheer. I'm thinking a stitch every 1" that goes down through the top strip, through the fabric, through the sheer clamp, around a dowel (bobbin?) and back up through the same path might work.
I pretty much have the deck beams and hatches worked out. Coaming is still pretty fuzzy. I'm hoping the Starr book fills in some blanks. I haven't made a final decision to go forward yet but I really like the concept
