I have not decided on specific plans - as the material is very different to ply I thought I'd put out some feelers before maybe committing to something that was fundamentally flawed. I was thinking of something like a s&g, but it's the sealing that's the killer. My alternative is to dump the plastic and build a Morris SOF, but the book is taking it's time arriving.

The gunwale and keel I had considered as reinforcement points, the question was how to do it. Your suggestion for the gunwale is more robust and simpler than what I had in mind, and sounds like the way to go. The coaming I had not considered, I'll put some thought into that.

I was thinking about using wooden strips along the joints to increase the glued area, like shear strips used to attach the deck on some s&g boats. The bonding issue is a worry though. I may get some scrap sheets (there's plenty of real estate signs around!) to experiment on if I decide to take the project on.
