I have used cheap 1/8" mahogany plywood with good success. The end result is more flexible than 4mm plywood, but the boats have held up great without babying them. I used 1/4" on a cradle for my nephew and had problems bending it, it started cracking. The 1/8" is much easier to work with.

: Which luan is best for S&G 1/8" or 1/4"? One seems to thin the
: other to thick. Both are a lot cheaper than the 4mm.
