I used a product called Kool Seal out here in California. I'm sure it's all about the same. I deluted mine 50/50 with water and it soaked into the canvas on my boat real well. Then I just painted over that with Acrylic Latex. Which leads me to wonder that if the products work so well together, that maybe you could get together with someone in the paint department at Lowe's and see if they can squirt some of their color pigments into it ( should mix the same or closely to that of their white base coat paints that they use to develope colors. ?? Do a little comparison of ingredients on the can or ask the clerk in paints to see if they can offer some inteligent suggestions. ??
From the looks of some of the houses in our neighborhood they can throw some pretty ..... how do you say it... LOUD colors together with those pigments. Might be fun for you and the clerk to experiment with those color machines to see what comes up. Start pastel..... and work from there.
