: I'd like to start working on my second 'yak, and am considering a stripped

: easiest method to go about stripping the deck? I'm assuming you'd use
: shear clamps, and use pkgng tape as a release over them. Attach temporary
: forms between the shears and strip away. Fiberglass the outside of the
: deck, remove from hull and then do the inside. Or is there a better way to
: do this?

Hi Joe

Here's a good pictorial of a strip deck project on a hybrid boat. Bill Price did a really good job and the pictures and description will give you some really good ideas.

I liked Bill's approach and the results of his work on the Sea Spirit.

Good Luck with your project.

I'll be working on two myself this winter and spring. The Merganser by Eric Shade and the Grebe by Grant Goltz, also of Squeedunk Kayaks. I'll be trying to build a couple of skin boats somewhere in there as well. ?? Gonna be a tall order, but when the grandkids speak, I jump and get busy. :) Been working my hind end off all summer and fall trying to get every other project done around the place so I will have no other interference along the way.
