In Response To: Strip: Outer Island Stem Question (Rick Sylvia)

: Hey, all. I've got all my forms set (I think a couple need some tweaking,
: though), with the exception of the stern and bow. I'm confused on the
: tapering of the internal stem pieces.

: From the perspective of the boat floating in the water, where does the
: 3/4" to 1/8" taper begin and end?

: Is it 3/4 at the very tip (up by the grab loop) down to 1/8 by the time it
: hits the water line? Or, 3/4 from tip to water line then 1/8 beyond that?
: Or, do I have the 3/4 and 1/8 reversed, or what???????

If you hold a batten from form 3, through 2, and past the bow, you should see what should be tapered or not. The batten should touch the entire side of your inner stem.
