I second the thought of the person who said don't bother. For kayak strips jointing a board, no matter what method you use, is really wasted time (unless the board is really a banana). You're not looking for a "glue joint" rip cut here. Remember that the strips won't be flat/straight on the boat! You're really only after consistent thickness.
Use a good featherboard just in *front* of the blade and run each board through with any crown toward the fence. You want to apply enough force to keep the plank tight to the fence. I used a really long featherboard that hung over the edge of the table saw. I could press against it with my leg to vary the force on the plank as it went through the blade. Worked great.
