: Any weekend project updates Chip? Rudder progress? Pics, more pics. Anything
: please... just an hour 'til I go home.
Whew, I'm in the middle of "Hatchsky Hell". I've about finished the redo on the original rudder/service hatch. My rear deck hatch recess and forward bulkhead hatch recesses are in and I am starting prototype hatch covers... I'm practicing on plywood dummy covers just in case the original plan doesn't pan out They're going to have fairly elaborate wooden catches on them (I hope).
The internal rudder gudgeon is pretty much ready to go and I'm setting up a jig to help me install it straight. I had one redo on the rudder itself... the dowel (pintle) was misaligned by about 3 deg which didn't look good so I cut it out and I'll have to re-set it in there another way. I could buy a cheap drill press from China to help drill the hole straight but I don't really want one. I'll probably drill the hole wide and then set the dowel in silica-thickened epoxy.
Sorry, no new pictures. I'll probably have a bunch next week. I work in fits and starts... mostly fits
