can you elaborate a bit on how you load those syringes? With/without
: needles? Messy? I'm getting a system of that going now, and working out
: the kinks. Thx!
Hi Mark
Those and/or the syringes I use are not "Needle" type syringes. Mine are the type you use to give children cough medicine orally. They don't come with a needle. The opening (plastic) is approximately 1/8" dia. and about 3/4" long and tapered. I don't use the mustard/ketchup bottles any more, but get clear bottles from the cosmetics dept. at Longs Drug store ( any store handles them )and the syringes too. I like them better because I can see what I've got in each. Cut the tip of the bottle down or off so that the tip of the syringe fits down in them snugly. ( the syringes I buy come with a small tapered ( stepped ) plug to fit into a bottle and it fits the syringe and also closes to seal the bottle ) I leave my syringes pressed down into that cap and they seal good.
To feed, I just turn the bottle upside down as you see the docs. do on T.V., draw back the plunger to fill with resin. Turn the bottle back to the upright position as you withdraw the syringe. It's not going to come out of the syringe. Squirt it into your mixing container and then replace syringe in bottle till next time. ( always.... replace the syringe when not using or you may stick them into the wrong bottle. Very simple. You can use the setup for quite a while, but I have changed out the syringes after each boat as they get all sticky and they are cheap.
Hope that helps.
