Anyone have any expierince with kevlar felt? I am a boatbuilder, and a paddler of all kinds of boats. My main love is whtiewater kayaking. I want to make a wood cored squirt kayak. A kayak that is so low volume that it's volume equals the mass of my body. Thus making it be able to do "mystery moves" or underwater acrobatics that are designed to keep you under the water. Desaing wise, I know I can make the right shape, but I just don't know how to protect it. Kevlar felt came to mind. I know raka sells it, but what are it's properties when mixed with epoxy? I can't get an idea of it on any whatwiater canoes that employ the felt as skid pads as the area covered in felt is already strong and stiff. How good is felt with epoxy over wide surfaces? any expierience is great!
