Jamie,

Dyson costs for 8 oz Ballistic Nylon would be about half the cost of that above and much easier to sew. 12 oz is about 2/3 the above cost. You may be able to get the holes patched in the urethane coated products, but it may look a lot like you took a store awning down and wrapped it around the kayak... Getting rid of wrinkles may be very hard.
