Hi Rehd, you're right. The Clifton #4 is $200!! It's pretty outrageous. That double shave is pretty neat. I don't mind buying antique tools. I have an antique #45... problem is, I feel guilty using a collectable to do everyday tasks. Best way is to make your own Wooden shaves are not that uncommon although I haven't seen many homemade shaves. I'm getting ready to make a little roundover plane that will put a radius on my rubrail.
