: What are you doing for a mold?
: I like the "Fireman's helmet" look, too!
: My problem is that I have a very "long oval" head (cowboy hat
: term)...much more oval than round, and even XXL Grateful Headz helmets are
: too short in the forehead for me.
: I was thinking of making the 1/2" minicel inner liner, saran-wrapping it
: to my head and under my chin, and then making a plaster mold from
: that---likely use this as a male mold to make a female mold from.
: I'd want to vacuum bag it.
: Not sure about metal flake just yet.

I'm rying different shapes, but I'm just carving the basic shape out of pink styrofoam then paint the foam with latex paint then build a mold on top of that. I'm thinking about doing a "expandi foam" mold of my head then form the foam and lay glass on top of it to make more of a one off helmet. I'm not sure if the expanding foam would have the properties I want for the inside of the helmet.
