well if your from bellingham then we have probably bumped shoulders at hardware sales or any number of local lumber yards, maybe home depot or at lowes, Last christmas my wife on her own, went out and bought me a jet table saw, and a few other tools that I asked for, the table saw she came up with on her own. she bought a direct drive, now thats probably not the one I would have picked had she asked me but for what she paid for it she got a great deal, and she did get it at hardware sales, at ladies night. so far I have been very happy with it, I have bought a couple nice blades for it, for cutting strips I followed some examples of some of the people on this forum and set up my saw to cut three strips at once and it worked slick. the saw has a good fence and didnt seem to bog down at all, THE WIFE DID GOOD. I know that direct drives probably wont last as long, but it is a very nice stater saw for about three bills.
maybe we will cross pathes some time.
