Thanks for making that point.

Paper canoes were made commercially around the turn of the century (umm 19th to 20th centuries, that is), and I would not be too surprised if there were rowing shells being made from paper. A kevlar hulled shell LOOKS a lot like it is made from varnished paper, but of course it isn't.

They are rare enough, though, that one per neighborhood is still a bet I think I'd win. And if there are 50 paper boats out there, I'm sure they are not equally distributed among the 50 states :)
