Would there be any problems with using 3/4 inch plywood instead?

Hello Gordon,
I used 3/4 ply for the forms of my Guillemot.I got it for free! I didn't experience any problems with the strongback. Just be sure that the 2x4 that you use is as straight as you can get, and that you secure it well to the support horses. After lining everything up, and a few strips, things will solidify and you should have little trouble with form movement.
