: Hello all, I am in the process of epoxying the fiberglass cloth and both the
: deck and hull are covered. I am on my second coat on the hull and there is
: still a cloth texture that shows through. Should I keep applying epoxy and
: sanding between coats or does the varnish act as a fill. I really want a
: smooth surface, and I think it has to be acheived(sp?) with expoy as
: varnish will eventually wear off. Thanks for the input.
Sanding between added coats of epoxy should eventually result in a smooth surface. If you keep adding epoxy without removing the high spots by sanding, you will never get the boat really smooth. Sand as much as you can without sanding into the glass itself.
