: If you need to get re-inspired then sometimes
: checking out a cool kayak/canoe book from the Library works... you hurry
: up the current project so you can get on to the next one

I can certainly see that. Problem with that for me is that I'm saving my money up for the next project - a kayak for me. I still have a long way to go in the savings department so it will be awhile before I can begin another project. Doesn't give me any incentive to finish this one except to get some space back in the garage. Of course I do have a shaving horse and paddles to make and could come up with lots of smaller projects to keep me busy if the canoe were done.

: I took my 4yr old son kayaking last week for the second time. He sat on
: Daddy's lap. Going in a small boat with a friend can be a great miniature
: Sunday afternoon adventure. I guess that's what I enjoy most about the
: sport... How many months 'till Summer?

That sounds like great fun and a great age for an adventure. My 14 year old son enjoys kayaking but is only good for about an hour and wants to really laze along. I think he'd like white water better at this point in his life.
