I would suggest posting pictures that show the SHAPE of the boat and any distinctive physical features it has. The only way the thief can disguise such a boat is by painting it, so it's entirely likely that he has (unless he's too stupid to figure that out). If that's the case, it's the shape and features that will be key to helping someone identify it.
If you haven't already, I'd suggest contacting every kayak shop you can find within a 100 mile radius. Using web-based yellow pages will help you find them.
