: Hi,

: Working on finishing up my coaming following the Morris book. What is the
: point of the 3/8 strip on the inside of the coaming? I understand the need
: for the outside strip to hold on the sprayskirt but keep on scratching my
: head about the inner strip.

: Also, any suggestions for sources for sprayskirts to fit? I know about the
: brooks but wondering what other options exist.

The cockpit size of the Morris drawing is equivilent to the dimension of the "ocean cockpit" used by the British boats. Bushsport makes a skirt for that size as well as Snapdragon xxxsmall. If you plan on using a tuiliq, I wouldn't go much bigger on the cockpit dimensions. The Brooks Tuiliq is sized pretty well for the ocean cockpit but if you loosen up the bungie it will go a little bigger coaming. I tried to put the tuiliq on another boat with a 30"x16" cockpit but stopped just short of getting it on. Decided not to risk damaging/stretching the tuiliq.
: Thanks,

: Matt
