Shawn, you should check out Erics recessed coaming on the Merganser,,the spacers only have to be one width all the way around with the thigh braces extending down as you describe from the 4mm recess, it's one of those things after building it it's obvious,,,"why didn't anyone....." oh nevermind. Have you made any of your own glass ones?
