So, I'm getting pretty close to the cockpit recess and I was wondering if anyone else had done one that wasn't even, smooth.

What if, for example, I ran 3 strips down the middle and, say, 5 or 6 up from the sheer and then filled in the spaces with horizontal strips? You might note, in passing, that this would probably make the cockpit recess all by itself... But, if you put it in practice, you might notice that the aft deck is really low and flat and the fore deck is really curved and quite high. It might be easiest to do this transition bit, from the back to the front, in some kind of stepped fashion...

I must just be thinking too hard... I haven't gotten far enough to cut out the cockpit recess yet, and I might just find that after I have done so everything is crystal clear... I'll have to think about it some more!

Oh, I'm sure that it'll turn out just fine, like everything else has... I just like to worry about these things ahead of time!

Anyway... Anyone else feel like competing in a 'messiest shop' contest? I will, of course, win, but I'll at least give you the opportunity to post pix of your shop first!
