I have been a member of the messy shop club occasionally... Fact is, Diane and I have each diagnosed each other as being "Messies"

But, when I recently decided to treat the garage like a business (Flyfisher Kayaks) I went through and did the "lean manufacturing" inspection. I threw away a bunch of stuff, moved all the other stuff to where it belongs, including all the tools not in actual use. What a difference! Now, when I am looking for a tool, I know where it is. I'm not looking for the pull saw under a pile of strips and sawdust on the shop floor. I am not tripping over 3 other kayaks in the garage. Feels good - very good - I'd recommend one try it - feels good to come clean!

I'm not opposed to getting the shop dirty. That is what it is for. But I have sworn to clean it up every day I use it and put all the tools back in their logical and easy to get to places.
