Steve, I wrestled with this design for weeks. Drawing, changing, blah blah. It finally came down to a vague idea and what the wood would do. I had no idea how to steam or use a heat gun so I just cut the strips thin and layed it out. Once I got the main theme the pin-stripe thing just sorta happened. I felt it would give it a little flair.
Rick- just think how much time you want to spend as the more complicated the design, the longer the process. I can safely say this to me is the most beautiful thing I have created so far... So the 300 hours doesn't bother me a bit. Now I need to get back to the layout of my sons soon to be new Skin on Frame.
