: Gaps filled with a mixture of epoxy and wood flour end up being a lot harder
: then the adjacent cedar strips. This makes sanding a real challenge. Has
: anyone found a wood filler that when cured will have the look and feel of
: cedar and therefore be as soft as the surrounding cedar strips?
I tried a couple of different wood fillers and did not like any of them. I found that the stir sticks from Starbucks did an excellent job filling gaps. They are 1/16 inch thick which was about as large as any gap I had. The smaller gaps were filled with wood flour and epoxy. As far as a color match goes, the Raka Pine flour was much lighter in color and a good color match in most areas. The Maple flour was very dark.
