I've been wondering when I might see this...
I just picked up the December issue of Sea Kayaker Magazine and noticed on the "One of a Kind" page there is a picture of an aluminum kayak built by Joel Neumann of Shaumberg, IL. It's built of 2024-T3 aluminum sheets that were cut on a band saw and then TIG welded. The 17'6" boat weighs 70 pounds, complete with shark teeth on the bow. Very cool.
Directly underneath the aluuminum kayak is a picure of a strip built kayak based on Rob Mack's Shooting Star. It was built by Ken Katz (who has posted here in the past).
