To some degree, it seems that they are a victim of their own quality. If they made them with a loose, sloppy fit, they would be more tolerant of sand. Ironic, isn't it?

Same here, although one boat required me to remove one rail screw in order to clear some bilge pump plumbing. I haven't broken a Keepers peg, but I have lost one in a wet exit.

I rarely ever adjust the foot pegs anyway, so that may be one of the reasons that I haven't had any problems.
