Well, I did the hull ends tonight. I did use a heat gun and had the impression it helped a good deal... Part of it is gently pulling for a couple minutes... that could have been enough without the heat. But I did get a feel of the wood letting go after a minute or so.

BTW, no scorching this time. I think the scorching I had with my SOF kayak on the ribs was a function of the wood - poplar.

I was able to make it up both sides to the chines tonight before I wore out.
