Well, these three all sound pretty close to the same solution... And since I've already been doing it with the (short) crosswise pieces, I guess that there is no real reason that I couldn't do the same with the lengthwise pieces... (Other than the difficulty part!)

But, thanks, it does help to have someone else throw an idea out when you get stuck thinking that you're really stuck!
