pkind of blade are you useing to cut the plywood?

Hi Lee -
Following the advice of folks like Rob Macks, I purchased a Bosch 1587 AVS jig saw about this time last year. It works great, one of the best tool purchases I've made. The blades I'm using are a Bosch "no-splinter" downcut blade called the T101BR. No splinters and a very smooth and fast cut. They're the best I've used so far. It has a t-shank, don't know if they make the same blade in a standard shank.

I've built 2 S&G boats so far and they were both Pygmy kits, a Tern 17' and a Tern 14'. I'm building a Cirrus and a Merganser 16' at the same time this winter and it's the first time I'm cutting out hull and deck panels from large plywood sheets. I have to say that I prefer the "connect-the-dots" method of laying out the panel patterns (Eric's instructions) to cutting through the patterns, leaving a scribed cut in the okoume(Vaclav's approach). I found that the jig saw blade would occasionally flick out pieces of the scribed panel outline. No problem with the connect the dots approach and that process leaves you with paper panels for another boat.
