Hi Tony,

If it makes you feel any better, on my Cormorant project, I did my fillets in February 02, in between the stitches. Then, I removed the stitches while I was stripping the boat. I then glassed the outside in September 02. Filled in the fillets in October, and glassed the inside then. Never did tape.

If it works out, it's a good idea. If not, it's not really a big problem. Rough up the fillets with sandpaper if they've had time to cure.

Shawn

: Hello everyone,
: I am preparing to do my interior seam filleting and taping this coming
: holiday weekend. I was wondering if it was crucial that the fiberglass
: tape be layed and wetted out on the freshly done fillets. I think the
: reason may be so the tape adheres well to the fillet and becomes one with
: it. I was hoping to put in the fillets, let them cure and then tape all
: the joints. This process seems to suit my abilities better than trying to
: do so much at one time. Maybe I am worrying too much about it and it will
: be easier than what I think. Anyway, I would appreciate the input.

: Thanks,

: Tony
