A quick Search on google turned up a 1/2" bit -

That might meet the needs of a less delicate cove. I have no idea as to how well it would work, but it SEEMS like it would have some advantages -

1. More robust edges
2. Less distortion in the edge straightness as you sand/fair the kayak.
