I do not know if Joel is active on this site but I have paddled the boat. It is very very fast and extremely strong. I sat in the boat w/o a deck suspended only by the ends and there was no deflection what so ever. I am not a welder but he is and says that the material is very weldable. This is the strongest, stiffest boat I have ever been in.

The biggest draw back to the boat is the possibility of either having to rescue him or him rescuing me. That thing would likely knock a hole in my boat or me for that matter!
