: A few days ago I was given a Rockwell Beaver Lathe #3400.Along with a box
: full of chisels. All the parts seem to be there ,except wood for a table
: and shelf. There are metal legs but nothing for the lathe and motor to sit
: on.
: Anybody know where I can get an instuction manual or operation guide?
: There must be kayak stuff I can make with this lathe. Maybe a new set of
: camping plates..
: Thanks again Terry
: ps. It's great to be around when folks clear out their basements !!
Just bolt it to an old solid core door. You can cut the door in half (lengthwise) and use part for the top and part for the shelf.
That's what I did with mine and it's been around for years without any problems.
Unless the legs are solid and heavy, I wouldn't mess with them. Use 4 x 4 posts. The more weight to the bench, the better.
