I'm sure there are plenty of places, or even some other builders in your area that would be able to help you out with this....... But!!

You should try to call the schools ( high school, college or jr. college ) in the area and see about talking to the wood shop teachers about the possibility of getting them to do it. They get their wood at a discount from most lumber yards and the shop teachers are usually looking for projects for their students to work on. ?? And if it will make the shop a few extra bucks they will certainly go for that. Most are short on funds now-a-days anyway. It's worth a try. How about a vocational school teaching woodworking. ??
You could get your strips, help out a student, teacher and school all at one time. ??

I don't think I've heard of anyone trying this approach before. It's been suggested, but I've heard no follow-up from anyone.

As I said, hang in there and you'll probably get plenty of help from your area builders.
