Hi folks-
Certainlywood.com sells 1/16 in thick veneer, much heavier than the veneers typically used for the application in this thread. I've used the ash and mahogany 1/16" veneer to laminate ribs on my ultralight SOF. So, what's the general opinion on using the 1/16" veneer (it's available in nice figure), applying a "backer" layer of 6oz. glass before cutting it into deck panels, then reinforcing accordingly? Just bypass the use of the marine plywood entirely? I'm only thinking of this for use on the deck.
