Which isn't necessary...you could easily put the cheekplates 1/2" outside the inner surface of the coaming...when you rotate your torso, your butt goes down below the coaming inner edge...and you still have something to attach your backband to.
I don't have any pads at all in my Dagger Redline WW yak, and can roll it just fine.
Knee bracing is more important than hip bracing for rolling a yak anyway. You can maintain a lot of side-to-side control with a well fitting seat and no hip padding.
