Here's another one. Again my canoe builder friend told me that the most common repair he makes is when people forget to take their canoes off their car before going into the garage. Guess what my brother did with his 17' Chesepeake? Yep, you got it. Dended the cab of the truck where the two towers sit. Broke the towers off the topper, and both rollers on the rear rack punched through the bottom. Oh yes, the keel line was badly cracked, but intact. I think I'd rather fix a cedar strip than a plywood boat. Delaminated plywood is difficult to deal with. However, he did a great job of piecing it back together. It looks a lot better than the bondo job I did on my canoe. :-)
