The hull was stitched
: and the interior filleted and epoxy coated. The hull was stitched to the
: cradles which in turn were screwed to the table. The table collapsed in
: the middle of it's length and the kayak bellied with it and cracked the
: two side panels. The cracks occured about 12" from the scarf joints
: so I guess my scarfs were of good quality. It was dark tonight when I
: arrived home from work to find the collapse so there may be more damage I
: could not see.

Hi Tony

Sorry to hear of this hurdle. But, I think that Mike has a good idea. Go out and take the screws out of the table/cradles and allow the plywood to spring back somewhat. The thin plywood has a lot of give to it, so you may only have the damaged side panels where they buckled during the bend. The bottom panels may just straighten back into shape as before.

If the side panels are only cracked, or even if they are broken, you can repair them there. If they are tied to the bottom panels real well, they are still in close alignment except for the cracked area. You could fit them back into shape as best as possible, fill the area with epoxy and clamp between two boards and some plastic, then when this is set up, add a plywood doubler to the inside for extra strength. Use a fairing board on the outside to get it smoothed out and back to original shape and you will probably have to paint the hull to cover that area. It should be an easy fix. Time consuming, but easy.

The bottom panels should keep it all aligned so that you don't get a crook in the hull. If the bottom panels are also broken, then it would be a bit more complicated to keep it aligned straight. It's worth a look-see.
Since you are into it for only a few $$$'s so far, I would take it through to completion. You will get some use out of it and you can give it to someone or use it for a loaner to friends.

As ws mentioned, wood is very forgiving and there are many ways to repair and replace if need be. Give it a chance!
