Whenever I hear 'ice boat' I recall a boat I saw in Wooden boat about a decade ago. [I've never done it myself, but it looked fun]

Since you posted this I've been trying to think of what they were called. Someone just asked about them on the Usenet group rec.boats.building and both a link and issue number for plans was posted.

I've never sailed, and my aging body prefers indoor temperatures when water turns solid. . . but the thought of one of those things made of cedar strips makes me wonder if this old dog can learn a new trick or two and find some warmer winter-gear.
