Actually that was my post. The idea of not having to worry about solid ice is intreging. A slight diversion from my existing ice boat.

RE: old dog ... how old? I'm 46 and can't imagine EVER giving up my toys! :-) With the exception of the scooter, ice boats aren't physically demanding. What got me started is the fact that I could use my exisiting windsurfer rigging. The blades set me back $$$, but other than that it wasn't too expensive. With the cedar strip hull, this will look professionally built ... that is if I do a decent job of designing the hull.
