Congrats on your new boat, hope you have many more! The price is certainly right.

As to your foot rest being too far forward, you might try this idea I got from Peter Strand. Glue a couple pieces of 4mm - 6mm ply to a piece of wood the same thickness as the deckbeam like the picture below. Slide it over the footrest beam. You will likely have to cut out the ply in a few places to get around the deck stringer riser blocks and lashings. If you size the block right, the "adaptor" will stay in place without fasteners of any kind. You can cut a bevel in the aft edge to make a more comfortable fit. I glued some minicell foam to the back edge for the ultimate in luxury.

As far as pictures, I gave my son a $40 digital camera (640 x 480 pixel resolution. Cutting edge six years ago, now they are giving them away) from Target and it works great for web page shots. So get one and let's see what ya got!
